Privacy Policy

InstArcada is a feed of instant games you can play alone or with others ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use it, why, who sees it, and how to delete it. The short version: we collect what the games and your account need to work, we don't sell it, and you can delete your account from your profile at any time.

What we collect

Your account

Email sign-up: your display name, email address and password. We store only a salted hash of your password, never the password itself.
Google sign-in: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID, as shared by Google. We don't get access to anything else in your Google account.
Guest accounts: a randomly generated name (like "Guest 7BDO"). We don't ask for an email or any other contact details.

What you do on InstArcada

Games you like and bookmark, and comments you post.
Your coin balance, the icons and clothes you own and equip, and your hub avatar.
Records of rewards you earn (playing time, hub mini-games, ads you watch for rewards) so coins can't be claimed twice.

While you play

Multiplayer games and the hub share your display name, profile picture or game icon, and live game actions (such as position, score and emotes) with the other players in the same room.
Hub chat messages are delivered live to the players in your room. We don't store them.
A game room keeps its state only while it's in use, and it's deleted about 10 minutes after the last player leaves.

Technical information

When you sign in we store your IP address and browser details (user agent) with your session, to keep you signed in and to spot misuse.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and request details to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

Cookies and storage on your device

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. Your browser's local storage keeps a few game preferences, like your best score in some single-player games and when the next ad break is due. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don't track you across other sites.

How we use it

To run your account and keep you signed in.
To run the games, match you with other players and save your progress, coins and items.
To show likes, bookmarks and comments.
To prevent cheating, spam and abuse, and to keep the service secure.

We don't sell your personal information and we don't use it for targeted advertising.

What other people can see

Your display name, profile picture, comments, and the name and icon you use in games are visible to other players. Your email address is never shown to anyone else.

Who we share it with

Cloudflare hosts the site, the database and the game servers, and processes data on our behalf.
Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Authorities, if the law requires it or it's needed to protect people's safety or our rights.

Ads and purchases

Ads in InstArcada currently promote InstArcada itself. They come from no outside ad network and share no data with advertisers. The store doesn't process payments yet. If we add an ad network or paid purchases, we'll update this policy before they go live.

How long we keep it

Account and game data: until you delete your account.
Sign-in sessions: they expire after about a week without use.
Guest accounts: when you connect Google or create a full account, your guest progress moves to the new account and the guest account is deleted.

Your choices

Delete your account at any time from your profile. This permanently removes your account, coins, items, avatar, likes, bookmarks and comments.
You can see the data tied to your account (likes, saved games, coins) on your profile.
Guest accounts live in this browser. Clearing your cookies signs you out of a guest account for good, so connect an account first if you want to keep your progress.

Children

InstArcada isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS and passwords are stored only as hashes. No service is perfectly secure, so use a password you don't use anywhere else.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes we'll also let you know in the app.
